Modern vs Vintage Range

Chappelli Cycles has two ranges - a vintage and a modern range. Both ranges have our super light-weight double butted chrome alloy steel frames and superior quality tektro brake levers and callipers. However each range has been designed carefully to have distinct look and feel, specs and colours to set them apart.

Vintage Range

The vintage bikes are easily identifiable by the several attributes including

  • Vintage style raked fork which curves forward and provides a slightly longer wheel base and lighter more 'floating' feel to the ride
  • Thin profile 25mm gumwall tyres which make the bikes feel very fast and light
  • Box style alloy rims which reduce the weight of the vintage vs the modern range
  • 1970's style indented straight crank and double sided alloy pedals
  • Studded vegan leather saddle and leather grips or grip tape
  • Drop bars or riser bars according to preference
  • Four classic colours - metallic green, metallic blue, champagne gold and British Racing Green (BRG)
  • Chrome fork and rear triangle available on some models and colour ways.

Modern Range

The modern range is recognised by the following design features:

  • 42mm Deep V triple walled rims - seriously strong and give a lovely thick look to the wheels
  • 28mm commuting tyres with mixed use tread to soak up rougher road surfaces
  • Straight forks for a punchier more responsive ride and tighter turning
  • Lasco fixie crank and double sided extra wide BMX style flat pedal
  • Vegan leather saddle and tessellated Chappelli grips
  • Four modern colours - matt black, nickel, pistola (gun-metal) and tricolour (Blue, White & Red)
